fees for therapy
My fee for a 50 minute session is $200 (this ends up being $98.95 out of pocket with the Medicare rebate. Please see below). The APS National Schedule of Suggested Fees2025-2026 recommends the standard consultation fee for psychologists is $318. To ensure my sessions are affordable and accessible, I have set my fee lower than this.
I offer a small number of reduced-fee spots on my caseload for those experiencing financial hardship. If cost is a barrier to accessing support, please reach out.
Private paying clients
Self-funded sessions are available for those who prefer to access therapy directly, without a GP referral or Mental Health Treatment Plan.
Medicare Rebates
You may be eligible to access Medicare rebates under the 'Better Access to Mental Health Care' program with a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) - previously called a Mental Health Care Plan. If your GP has provided you with a referral, you’ll receive a Medicare rebate of $101.55 per session (with a $200 fee, the gap will be $98.95).
How it works:
Visit a GP
Book a session with your regular GP, they will ask you some questions around how you are feeling and get you to fill out a questionnaire. Just let them know that you are wanting a 'Mental Health Treatment Plan'.
Request a referral
Your GP can give you options for therapists, or you can ask them to refer you to me specifically (just let them know my name). Your GP will send the referral through directly, or can give you a copy to pass on to me yourself.
Book a therapy session
You can then get in touch with me to book in a session. After your session, you make a payment (full private fee), I process the rebate ($101.55 ) and you receive it directly from Medicare to your linked account. It usually takes 24-48 hours once processed.
You are eligible for up to 10 session rebates per year. Your GP will initially refer you for 6 sessions. After that, I will send your GP a letter describing how things have been going, and request 4 more sessions if needed. You will need to book again with your GP to get this re-referral letter for your psychologist.
NDIS
I accept NDIS clients who are Self Managed or Plan Managed.
How it works:
We create a Service Level Agreement which outlines the frequency of your sessions and goals that align with your NDIS plan.
After each session I send an invoice to you, you pay me directly, and you make a claim with NDIS if you are self managed. If you are plan managed, I will send an invoice to your plan manager to process payment.
Private Health Insurance
You can also access my services privately or claim under your private health insurance (if eligible).
How it works:
After each session you make a full private fee payment to me. When I receive it, I will send you a paid invoice that you use to make your claim with your fund. The rebate you receive depends on your cover.
